The Registered Nurse (RN) Medical/Surgical provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions and post-operative needs. This role requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced acute care setting.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDeliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to Med/Surg patients
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Monitor vital signs, labs, and patient progress; recognize and respond to changes in condition
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered
Collaborate with physicians, case management, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge plans
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control practices
Support patient advocacy and promote a positive patient experience
Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Alabama
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
BLS certification
Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills
Previous Medical/Surgical or acute care experience
ACLS certification
BSN degree
