Job Description

The Material Handler/ Forklift Operator operates the equipped industrial forklift to move materials in the warehouse region and to load and unload truck trailers and move product in warehouse. The Material Handler/ Forklift Operator will also maintain the equipment, machines, and electrical components.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Move controls, devices, and levers to drive forklifts of industry to transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, and storage areas.
• Organizing and securing stored materials such as boxes, pallets, etc.
• Loading or unloading of materials manually, off or on to pallets, platforms, skids, or lifting devices.
• Report any damage to faulty equipment or any other safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Weigh products or materials and record the weight and further production information on label and tags.
• Complete forklift operator training.
• Perform other duties as allotted by supervisor.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Move and stack materials
• Keep production lines supplied with empty containers and packaging materials as needed.
• Rotate floor stock.
• General housekeeping duties in the warehouse or production area and duties as assigned.
• Follow good warehousing practices.
• Use common warehouse management software.
• Receive/process shipments.
• Perform proper forklift inspections and follow forklift operating guideline and procedures.

Experience:

• Reach truck: 1 year (Preferred)
• Forklift operator: 1 year (Required)

License:

• Certified Forklift Operator (Preferred)
