We have an immediate opening for an energetic Fiber Technician in Rochester, MN!
As a Fiber Technician, you will be responsible for performing basic to advanced installations, disconnects, and service changes for residential and business customers for high speed internet services, phone, and TV. You will provide basic troubleshooting and repair for services from the fiber terminal or the ONT to consumer electronic devices (TV, modem, wireless devices, etc.).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Install and troubleshoot all company services from the terminal to Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
Provide in depth customer education on all products and services.
Earn commissions by explaining company services and products to customers.
Maintain a professional demeanor with customers and fellow associates.
Work toward meeting key performance metrics.
Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience with a telecom or fiber company preferred but not required.
Physical ability to work from kneeling or standing positions for long periods.
Ability to work in various conditions, including attics, crawl spaces, and adverse weather.
Ability to climb ladders up to 25 feet using proper safety equipment.
Able to lift and carry loads up to 75 lbs, including ladders.
Ability to work with basic hand tools and specialized equipment with training.
Operate and maintain company vehicle and equipment safely and professionally.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Participate in on call rotation duties after regular business hours.
Available to work overtime as needed, including holidays and weekends.
Willingness to travel for training or business needs.
