Position Summary The Director of Muslim Student Life & Leadership is a key driver of the CIOGC MSA Initiative 2025 and a foundational contributor to CIOGC’s long-term vision of a student-centered, data-informed service ecosystem. This initiative supports Muslim Student Associations (MSAs) across Chicagoland while also laying the groundwork for a sustainable infrastructure that gathers insights, monitors trends, and enables community institutions to respond to student needs more strategically and consistently over time.
This coordination-focused role centers on building campus-community partnerships, conducting needs assessments, and operationalizing institutional support—without duplicating services or exceeding defined professional boundaries. The Director collaborates closely with the CIOGC MSA Committee Chair and stakeholders across campuses, masajid, and partner organizations to activate ethical, responsive support systems that serve the current student population and future generations.
Job Responsibilities - Serve as liaison to 15+ college MSAs, engaging student leaders, chaplains, and campus contacts.
- Build and maintain trust-based relationships across diverse student populations.
- Coordinate all stakeholder meetings in collaboration with the CIOGC MSA Committee Chair.
- Conduct CIOGC-approved assessments using surveys, interviews, and forums.
- Synthesize findings into structured reports for CIOGC leadership.
- Collaborate with the MSA Committee to design responsive programming based on student needs.
- Identify organizations and resources aligned with student needs.
- Coordinate inter-institutional program delivery, ensuring alignment with CIOGC’s broader initiatives.
- Prevent duplication by enhancing—not replacing—existing services and collaborations.
- Facilitate student-centered programming, especially around spiritual grounding, community service, leadership, and wellness.
- Support events with logistics, outreach, and follow-up.
- Coordinate delivery of additional programs based on assessed priorities (e.g., mental health, civic engagement).
- Maintain clear records of engagement, program outputs, and partnerships.
- Submit monthly updates and participate in regular strategy sessions with the MSA Committee.
- Contribute to quarterly dashboards and support formal evaluation cycles.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in higher education, nonprofit management, Islamic studies, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in student services, community coordination, or nonprofit programming.
- Demonstrated ability to work across diverse campus environments.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and time management skills.
- Ability to travel regularly to campuses and community sites.
- Experience in program evaluation or student needs assessments.
- Competency in collaborative planning and reporting.
- Familiarity with digital tools for communication, scheduling, and outreach.
