Advantra is partnering with a mid-stage cloud infrastructure startup in Phoenix to hire a DevOps Engineer to manage GitHub Enterprise Services, automate workflows, and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure.
About the role
You will administer GitHub Actions and self-hosted runners, build automation with Terraform and Ansible, and manage Kubernetes clusters. The role involves scaling DevOps environments, implementing security best practices, and supporting cloud infrastructure in GH Cloud and GCP. You will optimize system performance, handle disaster recovery planning, and enable smooth CI/CD operations for engineering teams.
Responsibilities
Manage GitHub Actions, self-hosted runners, and secure execution environments.
Administer and monitor Kubernetes clusters using kubectl, Helm, and Rancher.
Plan and perform GHES upgrades, replication, and disaster recovery.
Automate infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible.
Integrate GitHub APIs, CLI, and automation scripts.
Optimize pods, nodes, and namespaces for performance.
Implement DevOps security and compliance best practices.
Maintain cloud infrastructure across GH Cloud and GCP.
Collaborate with developers to support microservices deployments.
Core requirements
7+ years of experience administering GitHub Enterprise Services.
Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and self-hosted runners.
Strong scripting skills in Python, Java, or Bash.
Experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production.
Experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation.
Knowledge of GitHub REST and GraphQL APIs.
Experience with GHES upgrades, replication, and recovery procedures.
Cloud experience with GH Cloud or GCP.
Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of DevOps security and compliance standards.
Nice to have
Experience using Helm and Rancher for Kubernetes management.
Familiarity with Prometheus or Grafana for monitoring.
Knowledge of microservices architecture deployments.
Experience with CI/CD pipeline optimization.
Exposure to internal service optimization in GHES.
