Job Description

Burger Bench (Vista) is looking for a beertender. This person is responsible for serving beer and providing excellent customer service. This role involves taking orders, pouring beer accurately, maintaining a clean and organized bar, and ensuring a positive experience for guests. Beertenders also need to be knowledgeable about the beer menu and able to answer questions about the beers being served.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serving Beer:
• Pouring beer accurately, following pouring guidelines, and serving guests in a timely manner.
• Customer Service:
• Greeting guests, taking orders, checking IDs, providing recommendations, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Bar Maintenance:
• Keeping the bar clean, organized, and stocked with supplies, including glassware, kegs, and other materials.
• Knowledgeable About Beer:
• Being familiar with the brewery's beer selection, brewing styles, and other beer-related knowledge.
• Responsible Alcohol Service:
• Following responsible alcohol service guidelines and policies.
• Cash Handling:
• Accurately handling cash transactions and processing payments using a point-of-sale (Square POS) system.
• Opening and Closing:
• Performing opening and closing duties, such as stocking supplies, cleaning, and preparing the bar for service.
• Other Duties:
• Assisting with other tasks as needed, such as bussing tables, and assisting with inventory.

Skills and Qualities:

• Customer Service Skills:
• Ability to be friendly, helpful, and create a positive experience for guests.
• Knowledge of Beer:
• Familiarity with different beer styles, brewing processes, and beer-related terminology.
• Communication Skills:
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members.
• Responsibility and Integrity:
• Ability to follow policies and procedures, handle money responsibly, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Physical Stamina:
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and carry objects (e.g., kegs), and perform physical tasks associated with bar duties.
• Ability to Work Under Pressure:
• Ability to handle a busy environment, multi-task, and maintain composure under pressure.
